Description
The FiTech Go EFI Vintage 97 Style Throttle Body Electronic Fuel Injection System brings modern self-learning fuel injection technology to vintage hot rod and street rod engines while maintaining the iconic aesthetic of traditional Stromberg / Holley 97-style 2-barrel carburetors. Designed with a classic 3-bolt carburetor mounting footprint, it bolts directly onto traditional vintage multi-carburetor intake manifolds.
System Architecture & Configurations
FiTech offers the Vintage 97 system in four distinct throttle-body configurations to support single or multi-carburetor manifold layouts. Each individual 2-barrel throttle body incorporates two 36 lb/hr high-impedance fuel injectors, supplying up to 125 horsepower per unit:
34101 (1x2 System): Single 2-barrel throttle body — Supports up to 125 HP
34102 (2x2 System): Dual 2-barrel throttle bodies — Supports up to 250 HP
34103 (3x2 System): Triple 2-barrel throttle bodies (Classic Six-Pack / Tripower) — Supports up to 375 HP
34104 (4x2 System): Four 2-barrel throttle bodies — Supports up to 500 HP
Key Features & Design Highlights
Authentic 3-Bolt Mounting Flange: Fits standard 3-bolt 97-style intake manifold bases without adapter plates.
Remote Engine Control Unit (ECU): The main ECU and Idle Air Control (IAC) valve are remotely mounted away from the intake manifold, preserving a clean, uncluttered vintage appearance.
Self-Learning EFI Technology: Constantly adjusts air-fuel ratios (AFR) based on real-time feedback from the wideband oxygen sensor, eliminating manual jetting or power-valve tuning.
Ignition Timing Control: Built-in timing control capability allows the ECU to manage distributor spark advance curves for maximum combustion efficiency.
FiTech Tri-Sensor Module: Integrates the 1-Bar MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure), TPS (Throttle Position Sensor), and IAT (Intake Air Temperature) sensors into a compact module.
Period-Correct Finish: Features a classic matte black finish to blend with vintage iron or polished intake manifolds.
Fuel Delivery System Required: EFI systems operate at high pressure (58 PSI). The Vintage 97 system requires an inline or in-tank high-pressure EFI fuel pump setup (or a fuel command center module) along with a high-pressure fuel regulator and return line.
Exhaust Sensor Mounting: Requires welding the included wideband O2 sensor bung into the exhaust header or collector pipe at least 18 inches downstream from the cylinder head ports.
