Green HNBR #6 A/C Fitting O-Rings are premium, highly specialized sealing components engineered specifically for automotive and heavy-duty climate control systems. In modern mobile air conditioning setups, #6 fittings are typically used on the smaller liquid lines and the condenser outlet, where refrigerant flows under high pressure.
The Science Behind Green HNBR
Unlike standard black nitrile or neoprene O-rings used in general plumbing or engine oil lines, green O-rings are formulated from Hydrogenated Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (HNBR). This material selection is critical for two major reasons:
Chemical Compatibility: HNBR is engineered to remain chemically stable when continuously exposed to modern R134a and R1234yf refrigerants, as well as the synthetic PAG and POE oils used to lubricate the compressor. Standard rubber will rapidly swell, degrade, and cause a total system leak.
Thermal Resilience: These seals easily survive extreme under-hood operating temperatures without cracking, hardening, or taking a permanent compressed set, maintaining a tight seal over thousands of thermal cycles.
Sizing and System Application
While exact dimensions can vary slightly depending on whether your connection uses a captive male shoulder, a standard insert, or a brand-specific configuration (like a Ford Springlock), a standard #6 hose fitting O-ring generally aligns with these dimensions:
Inner Diameter (I.D.): Approx. 0.298" to 0.312" (7.57mm to 7.92mm)
Cross-Section Thickness (C.S.): Approx. 0.070" to 0.078" (1.78mm to 1.98mm)
Pro-Tips for a Leak-Free Installation
Never Install Dry: Always lubricate the new green O-ring with a few drops of clean, system-compatible A/C compressor oil (like PAG lube) before assembling the fitting. This prevents the rubber from scuffing, twisting, or tearing as the fitting is torqued down.
One-Time Use Only: A/C O-rings flatten slightly when compressed to create their tight high-pressure seal. Never reuse an old O-ring during a component swap—always drop a fresh one into the sealing groove.

Damages and Issues

If approved:
Refunds will be issued to your original payment method
Any applicable restocking fees will be deducted
Original shipping charges (if applicable) will be deducted
