Green HNBR #10 A/C Fitting O-Rings are highly specialized sealing components designed specifically for automotive and heavy-duty climate control systems. In modern mobile air conditioning setups, #10 fittings are typically used on the larger suction/low-pressure lines that carry refrigerant back to the compressor.
Why Green HNBR Matters
Unlike black nitrile or neoprene O-rings used in standard plumbing or oil lines, green O-rings are formulated from Hydrogenated Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (HNBR). This material science choice is critical for two reasons:
Chemical Compatibility: HNBR is engineered to remain chemically stable when exposed to modern R134a and R1234yf refrigerants, as well as the synthetic PAG and POE oils used to lubricate the compressor. Standard rubber O-rings will rapidly degrade, swell, and cause catastrophic system leaks.
Thermal Resilience: These seals easily handle extreme under-hood operating temperatures without shrinking or taking a permanent compressed deformation set, keeping your system properly sealed over thousands of thermal cycles.
Sizing and Application Specs
While O-ring geometry can vary slightly depending on whether the connection is a standard insert, a captive male shoulder, or a brand-specific design (like a Ford Springlock fitting), standard #10 hose fitting O-rings generally align with these dimensions:
Inner Diameter (I.D.): Approx. 0.515" to 0.546" (13.1mm to 14.0mm)
Cross-Section Thickness (C.S.): Approx. 0.070" to 0.094" (1.78mm to 2.39mm)
Pro-Tips for Installation
Never Install Dry: Always lubricate the new green O-ring with a few drops of clean, system-compatible A/C mineral oil or PAG lube before assembling the fitting. This prevents the rubber from scuffing, twisting, or tearing as the fitting is torqued down.
One-Time Use: A/C O-rings flatten slightly when compressed to create their tight seal. Never reuse an old O-ring during a component replacement—always drop a fresh one into the sealing groove.

Damages and Issues

Free Shipping Orders
Orders that qualified for free shipping are subject to deduction of the original outbound shipping cost if the item is returned.

Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you regarding the approval status of your refund.
If approved:
Refunds will be issued to your original payment method
Any applicable restocking fees will be deducted
Original shipping charges (if applicable) will be deducted
Return shipping costs (if arranged by Hot Rod Hardware) will be deducted
