The 1937–1940 Ford Rear Transverse Leaf Spring for 48.5" Spring Perch Centers by Posies (R40 Series) is engineered for traditional transverse rear suspension setups on late-1930s Ford builds as well as custom hot rods using a 48-1/2" rear perch distance.
Designed to replace stiff or fatigued factory rear spring packs, the R40 series balances classic styling with improved ride dynamics and controlled stance options.
Series Options & Stance Configurations
The R40 series features two eye configurations depending on desired rear ride height:
R40L (Reversed Eye):Lowers the rear end approximately 2-1/2" below stock height for a sleek, level street rod stance while maintaining full spring travel.
R40S (Stock Eye): Restores traditional factory ride height, ideal for builds requiring standard ground clearance or using axle-drop mounting setups.

48.5" Perch Center Compatibility:Formulated to fit 1937–1940 Ford rear axle setups (and 1935–1940 chassis configurations) with a 48" to 48-1/2" center-to-center spring perch measurement.
SuperSlide Inter-Leaf Technology:Utilizes Posies' proprietary moly-nylon buttons between leaf tips to eliminate metal-on-metal spring binding, friction, rust, and squeaks.
Crossmember Versatility:Compatible with original 1935–1940 Ford rear crossmembers as well as aftermarket tubular or plate-style transverse rear crossmembers.

Installation Notes & Recommendations
Perch Distance Verification: Always measure center-to-center distance between rear axle spring perches prior to ordering to verify the 48.5" spacing requirement.
Axle & Perch Alignment:Ensure rear perches are square to the rear axle housing and parallel to the spring eyes to avoid binding the spring shackle bushings.

Important: Items sent back without prior authorization will not be accepted.

Damages and Issues

Free Shipping Orders
Orders that qualified for free shipping are subject to deduction of the original outbound shipping cost if the item is returned.

Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you regarding the approval status of your refund.
If approved:
Refunds will be issued to your original payment method
Any applicable restocking fees will be deducted
Original shipping charges (if applicable) will be deducted
