Description
The 1935–1940 Ford Car Rear Transverse Leaf Spring for 46.5" Spring Perch Centers by Posies (R36 Series) is designed for traditional transverse rear suspension systems on mid-to-late 1930s Ford chassis.
In addition to 1935–1940 Ford applications, this spring is commonly used on earlier Hot Rod builds (such as 1928–1934 Model A and 1932–1934 Ford chassis) that utilize narrowed rear axles or custom rear end housing widths requiring a 46-1/2" perch center distance.
Series Options & Stance Configurations
The R36 series features two spring eye options depending on desired rear ride height:
R36L (Reversed Eye):Lowers the rear end approximately 2-1/2" below stock height for an aggressive street rod stance while maintaining full spring travel.
R36S (Stock Eye): Restores factory ride height for builds requiring standard ground clearance or using alternative drop-mount hardware.

SuperSlide Inter-Leaf Technology: Features Posies' signature moly-nylon buttons embedded between leaf tips to eliminate metal-on-metal spring binding, friction, rust, and squeaks.
Crossmember Fitment: Designed to work with stock 1935–1940 Ford rear spring crossmembers as well as aftermarket tubular or plate-style transverse rear crossmembers.
Standard 3/4" Eye Bushings: Equipped with 3/4" eye diameters to accept standard street rod rear spring shackles and bushings.
American-Made Quality: Hand-assembled and tour-tested in the USA using premium tempered spring steel for proven long-term durability.

Installation Notes & Recommendations
Perch Measurement Verification: Always double-check center-to-center perch distance on your rear axle housing prior to ordering to ensure proper shackle angle and spring geometry.
Shackle Bushing Care:Use proper 3/4" rear spring shackles (such as Posies #3056) and ensure shackle pins are torqued correctly to prevent bushing wear.

Damages and Issues
