The 1928–1934 Ford Car SuperSlide Front Leaf Spring for 31" Spring Perch Centers by Posies (#1002 Series) is Posies' most popular front transverse leaf spring, engineered specifically for street rods featuring narrowed front axles, dropped OEM axles, or tight fender clearances. Designed to optimize front end ride quality and provide precise stance tuning, this series eliminates leaf friction and binding on custom early Ford front suspension setups.
Product Overview & Axle Fitment
The #1002 series features a 31" eye-to-eye measurement, designed specifically for:
Over-the-Axle Installation: Pair with front axles featuring a 36" perch boss center distance (such as aftermarket narrowed axles or stretched/dropped stock Ford beam axles) in 1928–1934 Ford chassis.
Behind-the-Axle Installation: Pair with a 34" spring perch distance when constructing a spring-behind-the-axle front end configuration.
Narrowed & Fendered Builds: The 31" length is the primary choice for fendered street rods where extra shackle-to-fender lip clearance is required.
1002 Series Stance & Spring Rate Configurations
Posies offers the #1002 front spring in five distinct eye, spring rate, and leaf architecture options:
Reversed Eye (P/N 1002): The standard selection for Small Block V8s (SBC/SBF) and fendered cars. Features a 3-1/4" free arch, lowering the front stance cleanly without fender or tire rubbing.
Low Reversed Eye (P/N 1002L): Sits 1" lower than the standard reversed eye spring with a 2-1/4" free arch. Engineered for highboys and fenderless hot rods demanding an ultra-low profile. (Note: Requires a frame notch directly above the spring for clearance).
Stock Eye (P/N 1002S): Features a 4-1/4" free arch to preserve traditional factory ride height or provide extra oil pan and ground clearance.
Reversed Eye Heavy (P/N 1002H): Features standard reversed eye geometry with a higher spring rate to handle heavy engine setups (Big Block V8s, Supercharged/Blown engines, or Chrysler Hemis).
Dual-Flex Tapered Leaf (P/N 1002DF): A two-leaf tapered-leaf design that delivers the ultra-clean, minimal aesthetic of a mono-leaf spring with superior ride quality and safety. Matches the ride height of the Low Reversed Eye spring and includes 3 removable leaf spacers for additional height adjustability.

Damages and Issues
