Description
The Pete & Jake's 1933–1934 Ford Master Cylinder Mounting Kit is a purpose-built frame mounting bracket engineered to modernize the braking system of 1933 and 1934 Ford hot rods and street rods. By bolting directly into the factory X-member, this kit allows builders to replace original mechanical or obsolete hydraulic master cylinders with modern single- or dual-reservoir Mustang-style master cylinders, supporting both manual and power brake configurations.
System Architecture & Key Features
Factory X-Member Bolt-In Design: Engineered to bolt directly to the stock 1933–1934 Ford frame X-member with only minor modifications or trimming required for fitment.
Manual & Power Brake Adaptability: Modular bracket options accommodate either manual brake setups using standard pedal linkages or power brake setups with a remote under-floor brake booster.
Included Pushrod Assembly: Supplied complete with the necessary adjustable pushrod hardware to connect directly from the brake pedal arm to the master cylinder or booster assembly.

Bolt-On Installation with Slight Frame/X-Member Trimming
Frame Modification: While designed as a bolt-in kit for stock X-members, slight grinding, clearancing, or minor hole enlargement on the X-member sheet metal may be necessary to achieve proper pedal linkage alignment.
Proportioning Valve Integration: When converting to a dual-reservoir master cylinder (for disc/drum or disc/disc setups), install an inline residual pressure valve or adjustable proportioning valve to maintain proper front/rear brake balance.
Pushrod Adjustment: Ensure proper free-play (typically 1/16" to 1/8") at the master cylinder piston before securing the locknut on the included pushrod to prevent brake drag or fluid fluid trapping.
