OTB Gear Chevy Inline Six 216 / 235 / 261 Valve Cover

This is a high quality cast aluminum product that goes miles beyond what the market is used to. Cast in premium A-356 alloy, using modern CNC precision tooling to assure a quality product. The casting is heat treated to correct any warpage that can occur on a lengthy component during the cooling process. The gasket surface is then CNC machined to assure an absolutely flat surface. Some products do not go to this extent, which can result in oil leaks. If you have a straight head, we have your valve cover.

We have gone even further to eliminate oil leaks. We did away with the notch in the front flange area of other valve covers. This notch, to accommodate the tight fit of the water outlet, greatly reduced the sealing surface of the gasket, which could result in an oil leak. Each of our valve covers INCLUDES, at no extra charge, a 1/2” thick aluminum spacer, 2 new gaskets and hardware (#6413). As an additional benefit, you now have more finger room to help keep your engine clean.

You may notice some additional details on our valve cover… This product as well as all of our finned products feature a fin design that allows for easy cleaning. The fin tops as well as the valleys between have the same radius. When polished, all visible areas of the valve cover are polished and easy to keep that way. Also notice that the raised areas for the breather and hardware are ramped to make cleaning that much easier.

We provide each valve cover with 2 rubber grommets for the mounting bolts. Also included on the valve cover is a rubber grommet for the use of a breather with a 1” shaft. No need to try to find this stuff somewhere... If you use a 90 degree side mounted breather (such as our #6810 or #6811) this access hole would allow the use of an oil cap. We also offer some great oil caps.

To mount this 216 style valve cover on a 235 or 261, we are offering a stud kit (#6412) to change the mounting hardware location. Unlike some competitors valve covers, ours, being slightly wider, covers the the 4 perimeter mounting holes on the 235 head. The stud kit comes with polished stainless acorn nuts for a nice finishing touch.
