Description
The Altman Easy Latch Optional Lock Bag is a targeted upgrade for 1952–1966 Chevy and GMC Trucks. While the standard Altman Easy Latch provides a modern "bear jaw" rotary claw for a smooth, solid shut, this specific kit adds the internal mechanical linkage required to integrate power door lock actuators.
Enhanced Power Lock Functionality
Mechanical Interference Lock: These lock levers attach directly to the top plate of the Altman latch. When engaged by an actuator, the lever physically blocks the exterior release handle from moving, effectively securing the vehicle.
Seamless Integration: Once installed, the lock lever swings out of the way when "unlocked," allowing the exterior handle to operate the latch normally.
Modern Security: This kit allows you to move away from primitive 1950s locking mechanisms and toward a modern, reliable power-actuated system that can be controlled via a switch or remote keyless entry.
Compatibility & Retrofit Details
Current Production: This design is the standard for 1952–1966 truck latches produced after August 2024.
Retrofit Capability: If you have an older version of the Altman Easy Latch (purchased before August 2024), you can still upgrade to this new style.
Required Modification: Retrofitting requires marking, drilling, and tapping one small hole in your existing latch top plate to secure the new lever.
Vehicle Fitment: Specifically engineered for the door geometry and latch spacing of 1952–1966 Chevrolet and GMC pickups.

Eligibility for Returns
To be eligible for a return, your item must be:
In the same condition as received
Unworn or unused
With original tags attached
In its original packaging
You must also provide a receipt or proof of purchase.

To initiate a return, please contact us at jonathon@hotrodhardware.com. Once your return request is approved, you will be provided with the return address and, if applicable, an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number.
Important: Items sent back without prior authorization will not be accepted.

Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon delivery. If your item is defective, damaged, or if you received the wrong item, contact us immediately so we can evaluate the issue and resolve it promptly.

Exchanges
The fastest way to receive a replacement item is to return your original item (once approved) and place a new order separately.
Free Shipping Orders
Orders that qualified for free shipping are subject to deduction of the original outbound shipping cost if the item is returned.
Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you regarding the approval status of your refund.
If approved:
Refunds will be issued to your original payment method
Any applicable restocking fees will be deducted
Original shipping charges (if applicable) will be deducted
Return shipping costs (if arranged by Hot Rod Hardware) will be deducted
