Optimized for Legacy Small Block, Big Block, and FE Engines
The Heidts Superide® II IFS System for 1964–1970 Mustangs is a comprehensive "hub-to-hub" package designed to replace the dated factory suspension. While this redesigned kit supports modern swaps, it is specifically optimized for legacy Ford engines, providing the strength and geometry needed to handle everything from a lightweight 289 to a heavy 460 Big Block or FE-series powerplant.
Performance Engineering
Advanced Geometry: This is a ground-up design that offers a significant performance jump over basic Mustang II conversion kits. It features optimized geometry for a "luxury-performance" ride—delivering a smooth street feel while keeping the car flat and predictable during aggressive cornering.
Precision Alignment: The tubular control arms allow for full caster and camber adjustment. This ensures that even with a heavy Big Block, you can maintain the perfect alignment settings for modern radial tires and high-speed stability.
Shock Tower Removal: By installing this IFS, you can remove the restrictive factory shock towers. This is the ultimate modification for 351C, 429/460, and FE owners, providing critical clearance for headers, spark plug access, and general engine maintenance.
Stance and Handling
Lowered Profile: The system comes standard with 2-inch dropped spindles, giving your Mustang an aggressive, modern stance while maintaining proper suspension travel.
Steering Modernization: Includes a manual rack and pinion as standard, with a power rack upgrade available. This eliminates the play and heavy effort characteristic of the original steering box and drag link setup.
Wilwood Braking: Standard equipment includes 11-inch rotors with 4-piston Wilwood calipers, providing modern, reliable stopping power that matches the performance of legacy V8 engines.
Kit Includes:
Upgraded K-Member: Heavy-duty weld-in crossmember designed for maximum structural rigidity.
Control Arms: Tubular upper and lower arms (Available in Plain or Stainless).
Spindles: 2-inch dropped spindles included as standard.
Brakes: 11" rotors with 4-piston Wilwood calipers.
Steering: Rack and pinion unit (Manual or Power).
Suspension: Adjustable billet coil-over shocks and springs (Plain or Polished).
Documentation: Detailed instructions for a professional installation.
Available Options:
Front Sway Bar: An optional addition to further eliminate body roll during cornering.
Inner Fenders: Custom-formed panels to clean up the engine bay after the factory shock towers are removed.
Motor Mount Stands: Specifically designed stands to simplify mounting your 289, 302, 351, or Big Block engine to the new IFS crossmember.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be:

With original tags attached
In its original packaging
You must also provide a receipt or proof of purchase.

To initiate a return, please contact us at jonathon@hotrodhardware.com. Once your return request is approved, you will be provided with the return address and, if applicable, an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number.
Important: Items sent back without prior authorization will not be accepted.

Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon delivery. If your item is defective, damaged, or if you received the wrong item, contact us immediately so we can evaluate the issue and resolve it promptly.

Exchanges
The fastest way to receive a replacement item is to return your original item (once approved) and place a new order separately.
Free Shipping Orders
Orders that qualified for free shipping are subject to deduction of the original outbound shipping cost if the item is returned.
Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you regarding the approval status of your refund.
If approved:
Refunds will be issued to your original payment method
Any applicable restocking fees will be deducted
Original shipping charges (if applicable) will be deducted
Return shipping costs (if arranged by Hot Rod Hardware) will be deducted
