The Heidts 4-Link Rear Suspension Kit for the 1964–1970 Ford Mustang is a premier bolt-on upgrade designed to replace the factory leaf springs. This system provides modern axle control, significantly improved traction, and the adjustability required for high-performance street and Pro-Touring builds.
Performance and Adjustability
Complete Bolt-On Design: Engineered specifically for the Mustang chassis, this kit requires no cutting or floor modifications. It allows for a total suspension transformation while preserving the car's original unibody structure.
Precision Tuning: The kit features adjustable 4-link mounts, giving you the ability to fine-tune the "instant center" and anti-squat settings. This is crucial for optimizing tire "hook" during acceleration and stability through corners.
Lateral Control: To ensure the rear axle remains perfectly centered, the system includes a panhard bar with dedicated chassis and axle brackets, eliminating the lateral "walk" common with leaf spring setups.
Modern Dampening: Equipped with adjustable billet coil-over shocks, providing full control over ride height and stiffness to achieve the perfect stance and feel.
Structural Integrity and Aesthetics
Coil-Over Crossmember: The kit includes a full upper coil-over crossmember that reinforces the rear frame section, providing a rigid mounting point for the suspension and improving overall chassis stiffness.
Link Customization: The 4-bar links are available in plain for a clean, factory-plus look or polished for show-quality builds.
Shock Finishes: Billet aluminum shocks come in Black, Plain, or Polished finishes to match your project's aesthetic goals.

Four Link Bars: Adjustable 4-bar links (Plain or Polished).
Crossmember: Full upper bolt-in coil-over mounting crossmember.
Brackets: Complete set of chassis and axle mounting brackets.
Panhard Bar: Lateral stabilization bar with all necessary hardware.
Suspension: Adjustable billet coil-over shocks and 10-inch performance springs.
Full Rear End Package: Optional rear axle housings with pre-installed brackets, high-strength axles, and Positraction gear sets.
Chassis Strengthening: Optional Subframe Connectors and Chassis Stiffeners are highly recommended to minimize unibody flex in high-horsepower Mustangs.
Stabilization: A rear sway bar to further reduce body roll.
Technical Notes
Compatibility: This kit is designed to work as a standalone rear upgrade or in perfect synergy with a Heidts front IFS system for a complete chassis modernization.
Axle Housing: While the kit can be used with an original housing (requires bracket welding), the optional pre-bracketed housing offers a true bolt-in experience.

With original tags attached
In its original packaging

Important: Items sent back without prior authorization will not be accepted.

Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon delivery. If your item is defective, damaged, or if you received the wrong item, contact us immediately so we can evaluate the issue and resolve it promptly.

Exchanges
The fastest way to receive a replacement item is to return your original item (once approved) and place a new order separately.
Free Shipping Orders
Orders that qualified for free shipping are subject to deduction of the original outbound shipping cost if the item is returned.
Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you regarding the approval status of your refund.
If approved:
Refunds will be issued to your original payment method
Any applicable restocking fees will be deducted
Original shipping charges (if applicable) will be deducted
Return shipping costs (if arranged by Hot Rod Hardware) will be deducted
