The Heidts Mustang II IFS System is a high-performance upgrade designed for the 1960–1965 Ford Falcon and Ranchero. This kit replaces the restrictive factory shock tower suspension, which is often the primary obstacle for engine swaps and precision handling. By installing this system, owners gain significant engine bay room and the modern driving dynamics of an independent front end.
Performance and Stance
Modern Geometry: Designed to provide a contemporary driving feel, this system offers vastly improved steering response and stability over the original Falcon steering box and linkage.
Aggressive Stance: This kit comes standard with 2-inch dropped spindles, providing a lowered profile while maintaining proper suspension travel and geometry.
Adjustable Ride: Depending on your chosen configuration, the kit includes either stock-style shocks and springs or high-performance billet coil-overs, allowing you to fine-tune the stiffness and height of the front end.
Engineering and Clearance
Engine Bay Expansion: A major benefit for Falcon owners is the removal of the bulky factory shock towers. This provides the necessary clearance to easily install larger engines, such as 351 Windsors or modern Coyote powerplants.
Custom Control Arms: The kit features tubular control arms available in stock or narrowed widths. Narrowed arms are frequently used by builders to tuck wider tires under the Falcon's relatively tight front fenders.
Steering Options: Includes a manual rack and pinion as standard, with a power rack upgrade available for those seeking easier low-speed maneuverability.

We offer a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days from the date you receive your item to request a return.
Eligibility for Returns
To be eligible for a return, your item must be:
In the same condition as received
Unworn or unused
With original tags attached
In its original packaging
You must also provide a receipt or proof of purchase.
How to Start a Return
To initiate a return, please contact us at jonathon@hotrodhardware.com. Once your return request is approved, you will be provided with the return address and, if applicable, an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number.
Important: Items sent back without prior authorization will not be accepted.

Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon delivery. If your item is defective, damaged, or if you received the wrong item, contact us immediately so we can evaluate the issue and resolve it promptly.

Exchanges
The fastest way to receive a replacement item is to return your original item (once approved) and place a new order separately.
Free Shipping Orders
Orders that qualified for free shipping are subject to deduction of the original outbound shipping cost if the item is returned.
Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you regarding the approval status of your refund.
If approved:
Refunds will be issued to your original payment method
Any applicable restocking fees will be deducted
Original shipping charges (if applicable) will be deducted
Return shipping costs (if arranged by Hot Rod Hardware) will be deducted
