Give your "Advance Design" 1947–1954 Chevrolet truck the ride and handling of a modern vehicle with the Heidts Mustang II Front Suspension Kit. By replacing the original, heavy I-beam axle with this independent front suspension (IFS) system, you gain precise steering, improved geometry, and a significantly smoother ride.
Engineering and Construction
Complete Hub-to-Hub System: This kit arrives as a total engineering package, including the custom crossmember and all necessary components for a full modernization.
Tubular A-Frame Arms: Features paintable tubular upper and lower control arms. These provide superior strength and a clean, updated look compared to original equipment or stamped steel parts.
Modern Braking Performance: Standardized with 11-inch GM-style disc brakes, ensuring the safety and reliable stopping power required for today's highway speeds.
Precise Steering: Replaces the old steering box and drag link with a manual rack and pinion for a tighter turning radius and a more responsive road feel.
Kit Includes:
Control Arms: Choice of Stock or Narrow tubular control arms to help with custom wheel offsets.
Spindles: Available in Stock height or 2-inch Dropped spindles to achieve a lowered, custom stance.
Braking: Standard 11" GM Disc Brakes (High-performance Wilwood upgrades are available for added style and performance).
Steering: Manual Rack and Pinion (Power steering racks are available as an upgrade for effortless maneuvering).
Suspension Options: Standard Shocks and Springs (Optional upgrades include Coil-over shocks or an Air Bag kit).
Full Hardware Package: Includes spindle nuts, washers, rubber spring cushions, bearings, seals, and all necessary mounting hardware.
Installation & Customization
This kit is highly versatile, allowing you to choose spring rates that match your engine swap—whether you're keeping it traditional or going with a high-performance modern V8. For maximum handling performance and reduced body roll, optional stabilizer (sway) bars are also available.

We offer a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days from the date you receive your item to request a return.
Eligibility for Returns
To be eligible for a return, your item must be:
In the same condition as received
Unworn or unused
With original tags attached
In its original packaging
You must also provide a receipt or proof of purchase.

To initiate a return, please contact us at jonathon@hotrodhardware.com. Once your return request is approved, you will be provided with the return address and, if applicable, an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number.
Important: Items sent back without prior authorization will not be accepted.

Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon delivery. If your item is defective, damaged, or if you received the wrong item, contact us immediately so we can evaluate the issue and resolve it promptly.

Exchanges
The fastest way to receive a replacement item is to return your original item (once approved) and place a new order separately.
Free Shipping Orders
Orders that qualified for free shipping are subject to deduction of the original outbound shipping cost if the item is returned.
Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you regarding the approval status of your refund.
If approved:
Refunds will be issued to your original payment method
Any applicable restocking fees will be deducted
Original shipping charges (if applicable) will be deducted
Return shipping costs (if arranged by Hot Rod Hardware) will be deducted
