Description
The Unisteer High-Flow GM Type II Power Steering Pump is a premium, unpolished, all-new component specifically engineered for demanding steering setups that require high pressure and a high volume of fluid delivery. While generic or original factory pumps are often overlooked, Unisteer builds and tests each unit to prevent erratic steering assist and ensure a predictable, confident driving experience.
Engineered for High-Flow Configurations
Steering dynamics are entirely dependent on matching the fluid volume and pressure of your pump to your specific steering gear.
High-Flow Calibration: This pump is custom-calibrated for setups that demand a high volume of fluid, such as traditional steering boxes and specialized high-demand steering systems.
Eliminate Sensitive Steering: Running a pump with the wrong flow rate can result in "over-assisted" or dangerously sensitive steering at highway speeds. Unisteer fixes this by internally setting the designated flow and pressure before the unit leaves the factory.
100% Dyno Tested: Every single pump is run through a state-of-the-art test stand to verify full structural functionality, pressure thresholds, and leak-free operation, allowing Unisteer to back the unit with a limited warranty.
Remote Reservoir Design & Specifications
The GM Type II (TC style) footprint is the industry standard for compact, high-performance packaging. It is highly favored in tight engine bays, custom street rods, and pro-touring builds because it lacks a bulky attached plastic reservoir.
Plumbing Connections: Pre-machined to cleanly accept a -6 AN high-pressure fitting and a -10 AN return line fitting, making it ready for plumbing to your choice of a custom, remote-mounted reservoir tank.
Drilled Mounting Holes: Features standard through-bolt drilled mounting holes for rigid, deflection-free attachment to a wide variety of aftermarket block brackets or serpentine accessory drives.
Unpolished Finish: Ships in a raw, unpolished cast aluminum aesthetic—ideal for clean, functional engine bays or setups utilizing blacked-out/machined component styling.
Press-On Shaft: Utilizes a standard press-on pulley design. (Note: To protect the internal seals and shaft bearings, the pulley should always be installed using a professional power steering pulley installation tool, never hammered into place).

Tech Tip: If your vehicle uses a lightweight steering rack-and-pinion rather than a steering box, a low-flow/low-pressure pump is typically required instead. Always check the factory or aftermarket pressure ratings of your steering gear to ensure a perfect mechanical match.
