The Carolina Customs Electric Safety Pin Door Lock Kit bridges the gap between modern convenience and mechanical safety for custom street rods, classic trucks, and vehicles modified with rear-hinged "suicide" doors. If a primary door latch accidentally releases or fails at highway speeds, oncoming wind resistance will instantly force a suicide door to fly open.
This electric kit provides a high-efficiency motorized deadbolt system that locks your doors firmly to the body posts, doubling as an automated secondary safety pin network and a secure electronic door locking system.
Intelligent Fail-Safe Layout & Options
Integrated Manual Release Override: Every electric pin assembly is engineered with a built-in manual release knob. This ensures that if your vehicle loses battery power or encounters an electrical system failure, passengers can still manually retract the pins instantly to exit the cabin safely.
The Basic Kit (Remote Actuated): Includes two motorized safety pin units without independent control switches. This configuration is specifically designed to integrate directly into your existing aftermarket remote keyless entry or alarm module, allowing you to lock and unlock the safety pins effortlessly from inside or outside the vehicle via a remote key fob.
The Deluxe Kit (Switch Actuated): Comes fully equipped with dedicated control switches and matching wiring pigtails. This setup allows you to activate and deactivate the safety pins on demand from inside the cabin without needing an external remote control module.
Premium Installation Hardware Pack
Dual-Surface Snap-In Bushings: Every kit is supplied with specialized snap-in dress bushings designed for both the door shell and the body post. This dual-bushing design protects your painted edges, eliminates metal-on-metal rattling, and ensures a clean, professional visual appearance when the doors are open.
Stainless Fasteners & Instructions: Shipped complete with high-tensile stainless steel mounting screws and detailed, step-by-step installation instructions to simplify the fabrication process.
🛠️ Fabricator's Installation Note: When routing wires to the motorized pins inside the door shells, always use a high-quality rubber door jamb boot or wire loom conduit. This protects your electrical pigtails from getting pinched or chafed by the door hinges during repeated opening and closing cycles.

Eligibility for Returns
To be eligible for a return, your item must be:
In the same condition as received
Unworn or unused
With original tags attached
In its original packaging
You must also provide a receipt or proof of purchase.

Important: Items sent back without prior authorization will not be accepted.

Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon delivery. If your item is defective, damaged, or if you received the wrong item, contact us immediately so we can evaluate the issue and resolve it promptly.

Exchanges
The fastest way to receive a replacement item is to return your original item (once approved) and place a new order separately.
Free Shipping Orders
Orders that qualified for free shipping are subject to deduction of the original outbound shipping cost if the item is returned.
Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you regarding the approval status of your refund.
If approved:
Refunds will be issued to your original payment method
Any applicable restocking fees will be deducted
Original shipping charges (if applicable) will be deducted
Return shipping costs (if arranged by Hot Rod Hardware) will be deducted
