Description
The Dynamat Hoodliner (SKU: 11905) is a commercial-grade thermal and acoustic barrier engineered specifically for high-heat environments like engine compartments, hood undersides, generator housings, and marine engine bays. Built with a thick, high-performance acoustic foam core and a rugged metallic shield, it blocks severe mechanical engine thrash while protecting your vehicle’s exterior hood paint from heat blisters and fade.
Dual-Cell Acoustic & Thermal Engineering
Consistent Cast-Sheet Foam: The core features a premium 3/4-inch thick "sound soaker" acoustic foam that is cast directly into sheets to ensure perfectly consistent resistivity and performance throughout the material.
Hybrid Open/Closed Cell Matrix: Engineered with a specialized combination of both open and closed cells. The open cells allow sound waves to enter the material, while the closed cells trap, bounce, and dissipate those acoustic waves—turning raw engine roar into harmless thermal energy. If the foam were entirely open-cell, the sound would pass straight through; if it were entirely closed-cell, the sound waves would simply bounce off.
97% Radiant Heat Reflection: Covered by a structurally reinforced, highly reflective aluminized skin that bounces back up to 97% of radiant heat away from your hood panel.
Engine Bay Defenses: The outer aluminized face is easy to clean, oil-resistant, and water-resistant, protecting the underlying foam from breaking down when exposed to typical under-hood fluids and grime.
High-Heat Applications & Real Estate
This package contains a single, large utility sheet providing 12 square feet of high-temperature insulation:
Automotive & Diesel Truck Hoods: Lines the underside of large hood panels to drop forward engine clatter, making it highly effective at lowering the cabin noise heard inside loud diesel pickups.
RV & Marine Compartments: Perfect for lining tight motorhome engine doghouses, onboard generator enclosures, and marine engine bays.
🛠️ Installation Best Practice: For absolute maximum acoustic control under your hood, install this Hoodliner directly on top of an initial layer of Dynamat Xtreme vibration-damping mat. Before using the high-tack peel-and-stick backing, clean the underside of the hood completely with a fast-evaporating solvent (like denatured alcohol) to strip away all greasy engine film, road grime, and factory wax.
