The Song Chuan 897 Series High-Power Maxi Relay (Part # 897-1AH-C1S-R1-U06-12VDC) is a commercial-grade, heavy-duty mechanical component engineered for demanding automotive and fleet electrical systems. While standard Bosch-style cube relays clip out at 30 to 40 Amps, this space-saving maxi relay is built to continuously handle massive 70 Amp high-current loads, making it the ideal choice for high-draw upgrades like starter motors, heavy-duty electric cooling fans, battery disconnect systems, and nitrous solenoids.
Industrial-Grade Circuit Protection
Integrated Resistor Suppression: Built with a internal $680\ \Omega$ transient suppression resistor wired in parallel with the coil loop. When the relay is switched off, the magnetic field collapsing creates a massive inductive "kick" or voltage spike. This internal resistor safely absorbs that energy, protecting sensitive aftermarket engine computers, transmission controllers, and digital dashboard electronics from frying.
SPST 1 Form A Layout: Configured as a Single Pole Single Throw, Normally Open switch mechanism. When 12V power is sent to the trigger circuit, the internal contact clamps down instantly to supply full power to your high-amperage accessories.
Silver Tin Oxide Contacts: The internal contacts are forged from a high-quality silver tin oxide (AgSnO) alloy, which exhibits excellent resistance to electrical arcing, pitting, and material transfer, guaranteeing a minimal voltage drop across the lifetime of the switch.
Extreme-Environment Resilience
C1S Weather-Resistant Shell: Protected by a flux-tight, dust-tight, and splash-proof plastic enclosure. This housing keeps road debris, grime, and environmental humidity away from the precision electromechanical components inside.
Massive Thermal Operating Range: Specifically stabilized to deliver reliable, non-stick switching operation in extreme environments as freezing cold as -40°F (-40°C) up to an intense under-hood engine heat of 257°F (125°C).
