The Dakota Digital RTX Series for the 1982–1992 Pontiac Firebird is a premium instrument upgrade designed for the "Third Gen" enthusiast. It offers a period-correct appearance based on the sporty 1986–1992 styling, ensuring that the high-tech internals don't clash with your car's classic interior.
Authentic Design, Modern Performance
Factory-Correct Looks: Every effort has been made to replicate the OEM layout, face styling, and indicators. To a casual observer, the dash looks like a perfectly preserved original unit.
Customizable RGB Lighting: Once the car is started, the high-performance LED backlighting activates. You can choose from a massive range of colors via the Dakota Digital mobile app, allowing you to match your car's theme or stick with the classic Pontiac red.
Precision Accuracy: The gauges utilize modern micro-controlled stepper motors, replacing the old, often-unreliable factory movements with rock-solid reliability.
Direct Fit: This system is designed to bolt directly into 1982–1992 non-digital dashes using your existing factory or reproduction bezel.
Advanced Data & Safety Features
TFT Message Centers: High-definition displays are built into the cluster to show just about any information you need, including performance timers (0-60 MPH, 1/4 mile), gear position, and diagnostic data.
Simplified Installation: The system uses a central control box that mounts under the dash. All sensors connect to this box, and a single data cable runs to the cluster, significantly reducing wiring clutter.
Enhanced Compatibility: It includes modern indicators like Check Engine and Parking Brake that can interface with late-model engine swaps (like LS or LT engines) or your original wiring.

Construction: CNC-machined housings built with in-house electronics.
Calibration: Easy push-button calibration for speedometer and fuel levels.
Note: This system will not replace original equipment factory digital dash versions.

We offer a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days from the date you receive your item to request a return.
Eligibility for Returns
To be eligible for a return, your item must be:
In the same condition as received
Unworn or unused
With original tags attached
In its original packaging
You must also provide a receipt or proof of purchase.
How to Start a Return
To initiate a return, please contact us at jonathon@hotrodhardware.com. Once your return request is approved, you will be provided with the return address and, if applicable, an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number.
Important: Items sent back without prior authorization will not be accepted.

Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon delivery. If your item is defective, damaged, or if you received the wrong item, contact us immediately so we can evaluate the issue and resolve it promptly.
Exceptions / Non-Returnable Items

Exchanges
The fastest way to receive a replacement item is to return your original item (once approved) and place a new order separately.
Free Shipping Orders
Orders that qualified for free shipping are subject to deduction of the original outbound shipping cost if the item is returned.
Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you regarding the approval status of your refund.
If approved:
Refunds will be issued to your original payment method
Any applicable restocking fees will be deducted
Original shipping charges (if applicable) will be deducted
Return shipping costs (if arranged by Hot Rod Hardware) will be deducted

Payment processing fees (including PayPal, Amazon Pay, or other merchant fees) are non-refundable
