The Heidts Pro-G® 4-Link Rear Suspension Kit for 1974–1981 Pontiac Firebird is a professional-grade, bolt-on solution designed to replace factory leaf springs with a modern, high-performance architecture. This system is engineered to provide the aggressive 3" to 4" drop and the precise handling required for competitive Pro-Touring builds.
Performance and Geometry
Traction and Control: By moving to a 4-bar configuration, you eliminate leaf spring wrap and wheel hop. This ensures the rear tires stay planted during hard launches and aggressive exits from corners.
Precision Tuning: The kit features adjustable 4-link mounts, allowing you to optimize the suspension’s "instant center" and anti-squat characteristics. This level of tuning is essential for balancing the car’s behavior for different track or street conditions.
Lateral Stability: Includes a high-strength panhard bar to prevent the rear axle from "walking" side-to-side, providing predictable and crisp handling during high-lateral-G maneuvers.
Stance and Dampening: Equipped with billet adjustable coil-over shocks, giving you total control over ride height and the ability to tune valving for either street comfort or track stiffness.
Structural Engineering
Bolt-On Integration: This system is specifically designed for the later Second-Gen F-body floor pan. It is a true bolt-on installation that requires no cutting or permanent floor modifications.
Chassis Stiffness: The kit includes a full upper coil-over crossmember. This component spans the rear frame rails, reinforcing the unibody and providing a rigid mounting point for the suspension.
Optimized Track Width: Designed for a 58.5-inch track width, offering ideal clearance for wide, modern performance wheels and tires.

Adjustable Links: High-strength 4-bar links (available in Plain or Polished).
Upper Crossmember: Full bolt-in upper mounting crossmember.
Panhard Bar: Lateral stabilization bar with all necessary brackets.
Suspension: Billet adjustable coil-over shocks (Plain or Polished) and 10" performance springs.
Hardware: Complete set of bolt-in chassis and axle brackets with Grade 8 hardware.

To create a complete high-performance rear end, you can add:
Driveline: Custom axle housings with pre-welded brackets, high-strength axles, and Positraction gear sets.
Chassis Strength:Subframe Connectors and a Drive Shaft Hoop to minimize chassis flex and increase safety.
Handling & Braking: Performance rear disc brake kits and a rear sway bar for additional roll control.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be:

With original tags attached
In its original packaging
You must also provide a receipt or proof of purchase.

Important: Items sent back without prior authorization will not be accepted.

Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon delivery. If your item is defective, damaged, or if you received the wrong item, contact us immediately so we can evaluate the issue and resolve it promptly.

Exchanges
The fastest way to receive a replacement item is to return your original item (once approved) and place a new order separately.
Free Shipping Orders
Orders that qualified for free shipping are subject to deduction of the original outbound shipping cost if the item is returned.
Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you regarding the approval status of your refund.
If approved:
Refunds will be issued to your original payment method
Any applicable restocking fees will be deducted
Original shipping charges (if applicable) will be deducted
Return shipping costs (if arranged by Hot Rod Hardware) will be deducted
