Maximum Handling for Second-Gen F-Bodies
The Heidts Pro-G® Full Front Subframe for the 1970–1981 Pontiac Firebird is a comprehensive performance foundation designed to bring modern supercar handling to the Second-Gen F-Body. This all-new bolt-in subframe is engineered for extreme performance, offering the clearance necessary for massive front tires and the versatility to mount nearly any Chevrolet powerplant.
Engineering and Performance
Extreme Tire Clearance: This subframe is specifically designed to accommodate up to a 335mm wide front tire, allowing for a massive contact patch that significantly increases front-end grip.
Modern Geometry: Features Heidts' Pro-G™ drop spindles and advanced suspension geometry. This setup lowers the center of gravity while optimizing the camber curve and roll center for high-speed cornering and precise turn-in.
Engine Versatility: The subframe is designed to accept a wide range of engines, including Small Block, Big Block, LS, and LT platforms. It includes a universal transmission crossmember to simplify drivetrain installation.
Precision Steering: Standardized with a power rack and pinion, this system replaces the heavy factory steering box with a direct-linkage setup that provides immediate and accurate feedback.
Construction and Features
Advanced Control Arms: The kit includes adjustable upper control arms for fine-tuning alignment and heavy-duty 1-1/2-inch tubular lower control arms for maximum strength and reduced deflection.
Adjustable Dampening: Comes standard with adjustable billet coil-over shocks and springs, giving the builder full control over ride height and valving stiffness.
Braking Performance: Standard equipment features an 11-inch Wilwood disc brake kit with 4-piston calipers, providing a major increase in stopping power over factory components.

Available Performance Upgrades:
Heim Joint Rod Ends: Upgrade the upper control arm bushings to heim joints to eliminate deflection and further tighten suspension response.
Brake Upgrades: For heavy track use, upgrade to 12-inch or 13-inch Wilwood rotors with drilled and slotted configurations.
Stabilization: Add the 1-1/4-inch solid splined sway bar for maximum body roll control during high-lateral-G maneuvers.

Important: Items sent back without prior authorization will not be accepted.

Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon delivery. If your item is defective, damaged, or if you received the wrong item, contact us immediately so we can evaluate the issue and resolve it promptly.

Exchanges
The fastest way to receive a replacement item is to return your original item (once approved) and place a new order separately.
Free Shipping Orders
Orders that qualified for free shipping are subject to deduction of the original outbound shipping cost if the item is returned.
Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you regarding the approval status of your refund.
If approved:
Refunds will be issued to your original payment method
Any applicable restocking fees will be deducted
Original shipping charges (if applicable) will be deducted
Return shipping costs (if arranged by Hot Rod Hardware) will be deducted
