The Dakota Digital Grafix Series Instrument System (Part # GRFX-70C-CVL) is a state-of-the-art, fully customizable dashboard upgrade engineered specifically for 1970–1972 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, Monte Carlo, El Camino, and 1971 GMC Sprint models equipped with the factory six-round gauge opening. This system functions as a direct bolt-in upgrade designed to integrate into your stock or reproduction gauge carrier and bezel assembly.
By combining cutting-edge Thin-Film Transistor (TFT) screen technology with modern software, the GRFX series brings advanced digital capabilities, wireless smartphone tuning, and real-time performance tracking to classic muscle car cockpits.
Deeply Customizable TFT Interface
Variable Layout Configuration: Every gauge location can be configured independently to display an Analog, Digital, or Bar-graph style readout. Displays can show readings singly, grouped in pairs to deliver twice the visible data, or reconfigured entirely based on user preference.
Graphic Themes & Warning Modes: Features 4 factory-preset graphic themes (Standard, Performance, Modern, and Era) alongside 12 quick-set color schemes. For deeper personalization, the full RGB backlighting network supports over 30 user-selectable color options to independently assign shades across the needles, sweeps, and digital alphanumeric zones.
Integrated Reverse Backup Video Display: A breakthrough feature for classic car cockpits, this system utilizes its largest onboard display to act as a reverse backup camera screen. This brings modern safety and visibility directly into the factory gauge cluster layout (compatible backup cameras are available separately).
Adaptive Lighting Technology: An internal photo sensor automatically adjusts screen brightness on the fly. This system utilizes an Auto High Contrast mode for crisp visibility in direct sunlight, alongside an Auto Night Mode for low-light driving comfort.
Precision Sensors & Self-Calibrating Navigation
Dual-Source Speedometer Technology: Built-in GPS technology provides automatic, touchless speedometer calibration that remains perfectly accurate regardless of changes to rear-gear ratios or tire sizing. It works in tandem with a wired Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) source to maintain a continuous, real-time speedometer input signal.
Comprehensive Solid-State Sensor Package: The system arrives with a complete modern sensor kit, including a ground-isolated 1/8" NPT Water Temperature probe, a highly accurate solid-state Oil Pressure Transducer, a Cable-Driven Speed Sensor/Generator, and full-length 10-foot wiring harnesses. A variety of NPT adaptor bushings (1/4", 3/8", 1/2") and metric bushings (12mm, 16mm x 1.5) are included.
G-Force & Performance Telemetry: Features an integrated digital G-force meter to graphically display real-time gravity impacts during acceleration, braking, and cornering. The integrated digital message center also houses a 0–60 MPH timer, 1/4-mile and 1/8-mile clocks, trap speed readouts, and high speed/RPM recall capabilities.
Clean Wire Management & App Connectivity
External Control Module: To eliminate messy bird-nest wiring behind your dashboard, all sensor inputs route directly to a compact external control box ($5.5\text{"} \times 3.5\text{"} \times 1\text{"}$). A minimized harness runs from this box to the gauge cluster, ensuring a clean and tidy installation.
Bluetooth Smart App Control: Built-in Bluetooth allows instant access to the free Dakota Digital mobile app on Apple or Android smartphones and tablets. The app lets you manage system configuration, change colors, calibrate sensors, or view real-time diagnostics for easy troubleshooting.
USB Field Updates: Features an integrated USB access port to allow for field-applied software updates, ensuring your cluster can import new factory-released graphic themes and functional enhancements in the future.

⚠️ Inclusion Note: The factory-style outer instrument bezel is not included with this kit. The gauge system is engineered to mount cleanly into your existing OEM or reproduction plastic interior bezel assembly.
*Note: Reaching the 300 psi digital numeric oil readout requires an optional premium sensor (Part # SEN-03-9).

Damages and Issues

Free Shipping Orders
