Why Upgrade to Electric Power Steering?
Swapping to electric power steering provides multiple advantages over traditional hydraulic systems:
-
No Pump, No Fluid, No Leaks:
EPAS eliminates the need for a hydraulic pump, fluid reservoir, and hoses—simplifying your engine bay and removing common failure points.
-
Reduced Engine Drag:
Since the system is powered by electricity, not engine power, you regain horsepower that would otherwise be lost to a hydraulic pump.
-
Dynamic Assist When You Need It:
The system activates only when turning, providing power assistance at low speeds (like parking or tight turns) and a firmer, more connected feel at higher speeds. This gives you the best of both worlds—effortless control and enhanced road feedback.
-
Fully Adjustable Feel:
An integrated adjustable potentiometer lets you fine-tune the level of assist to match your driving style. Dial in maximum assist for daily driving, or reduce it for a more performance-oriented feel on the track.
-
Reliable & Maintenance-Free:
Electric systems require virtually no maintenance and are less prone to wear than their hydraulic counterparts. That means more time on the road and less time in the garage.
Product Specs:
-
Low 9 amp power draw—easy on your electrical system
-
Average installation time: 8 hours
- Some cutting required
- Steering wheel and column not included
How It Works:
The onboard computer detects resistance at the steering wheel and activates the electric motor to assist your input. The result is smoother steering without the compromises of old hydraulic systems. The assist is active only during turning, so you maintain a solid, authentic feel when cruising in a straight line.
