The Heidts Superide® II IFS System for the 1967–1970 Mercury Cougar has been completely redesigned to bridge the gap between classic styling and modern Ford performance. This specific kit is engineered to provide the structural support and expansive clearance required for Ford Coyote 5.0L and Modular 4.6L/5.4L engines, allowing Cougar owners to utilize modern overhead-cam powerplants that were previously too wide for the factory engine bay.
Engineering and Engine Compatibility
Expansive Clearance: By replacing the original suspension, you can remove the bulky factory shock towers. This is a critical step for fitting the wide Coyote or Modular engine families into the Cougar's engine compartment.
Upgraded K-Member: The core of this kit is a redesigned, heavy-duty K-member profiled specifically to accommodate modern oil pans and the wider footprint of Ford's latest engine choices.
Advanced Geometry: This is a dedicated performance IFS, not a basic Mustang II conversion. The Superide® II geometry is tuned to provide a smooth, "luxury-muscle" ride on the street while remaining incredibly flat and stable during high-speed cornering.
Precision Alignment: The included tubular control arms allow for full caster and camber adjustment, ensuring your Cougar maintains modern alignment specs for superior high-speed tracking and tire wear.
Performance and Stance
Aggressive Profile: This system comes standard with 2-inch dropped spindles, giving the Cougar a lower center of gravity and a modern, aggressive stance without sacrificing suspension travel.
Modern Steering: Standardized with a manual rack and pinion for weight savings, with a power rack upgrade available for those prioritizing effortless steering in a high-performance street build.
High-Performance Braking: Features 11-inch rotors paired with 4-piston Wilwood calipers, delivering the reliable stopping power necessary for a modern engine swap.

Important: Items sent back without prior authorization will not be accepted.

Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon delivery. If your item is defective, damaged, or if you received the wrong item, contact us immediately so we can evaluate the issue and resolve it promptly.

Exchanges
The fastest way to receive a replacement item is to return your original item (once approved) and place a new order separately.
Free Shipping Orders
Orders that qualified for free shipping are subject to deduction of the original outbound shipping cost if the item is returned.
Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you regarding the approval status of your refund.
If approved:
Refunds will be issued to your original payment method
Any applicable restocking fees will be deducted
Original shipping charges (if applicable) will be deducted
Return shipping costs (if arranged by Hot Rod Hardware) will be deducted
