Optimized for Legacy Small Block, Big Block, and FE Engines
The Heidts Superide® II IFS System for the 1967–1970 Mercury Cougar is a complete hub-to-hub package designed to transform the handling of the "luxury muscle" Cougar. While this redesigned kit is versatile enough for modern swaps, it is specifically configured here to support legacy Ford engines, providing the durability and geometry required for 289/302 Small Blocks, 351 Windsors/Clevelands, and heavy FE or 460 Big Blocks.
Performance Engineering
Advanced Geometry: This system represents a ground-up design that far exceeds the performance of standard Mustang II conversion kits. It delivers a refined ride that is smooth during cruising but remains remarkably flat and stable during spirited cornering.
Precision Alignment: The tubular control arms are engineered with adjusters for both caster and camber. This allows you to dial in modern alignment specifications, ensuring superior high-speed tracking and reduced tire wear even with heavy legacy iron engines.
Shock Tower Removal: Moving to this IFS allows for the removal of the bulky factory shock towers. This is the single most effective modification for 351C, 429/460, and FE owners, as it provides massive clearance for headers, exhaust routing, and spark plug access.
Stance and Handling
Modern Profile: The kit comes standard with 2-inch dropped spindles, lowering the Cougar's center of gravity and providing a modern, aggressive stance without sacrificing suspension travel.
Modernized Steering: Standardized with a manual rack and pinion for precision, with a power rack upgrade available. This setup replaces the original, often "vague" steering box and linkage with direct, responsive feedback.
High-Performance Braking: The package includes 11-inch iron rotors and 4-piston Wilwood calipers, offering the modern stopping power necessary for a heavy V8 Cougar.

Upgraded K-Member: Heavy-duty weld-in crossmember designed for structural rigidity and maximum engine clearance.
Control Arms: Tubular upper and lower arms (Available in Plain or Stainless).
Spindles: 2-inch dropped spindles for an improved profile.
Brakes: 11" rotors and 4-piston Wilwood calipers.
Steering: Rack and pinion unit (Manual or Power).
Suspension: Adjustable billet coil-over shocks and springs (Plain or Polished).
Documentation: Detailed instructions for a professional-grade installation.
Available Options:
Front Sway Bar: An optional addition that is highly recommended for eliminating body roll and sharpening cornering response.
Inner Fenders: Custom panels designed to give the engine bay a finished, show-quality look after the shock towers are removed.
Motor Mount Stands: Specifically designed stands to simplify mounting your chosen legacy Ford V8 to the new IFS crossmember.

Important: Items sent back without prior authorization will not be accepted.

Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon delivery. If your item is defective, damaged, or if you received the wrong item, contact us immediately so we can evaluate the issue and resolve it promptly.

Free Shipping Orders
Orders that qualified for free shipping are subject to deduction of the original outbound shipping cost if the item is returned.
Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you regarding the approval status of your refund.
If approved:
Refunds will be issued to your original payment method
Any applicable restocking fees will be deducted
Original shipping charges (if applicable) will be deducted
