The Altman Easy Latch Kit for 1960–1963 Chevy Trucks is a high-precision, bolt-in upgrade designed to eliminate the aggressive door slamming common in early C10-era pickups. By replacing the original factory hardware with modern "bear jaw" rotary claw technology, this kit allows your doors to close with a light, secure, and modern feel.
Precision Vehicle-Specific Design
Unlike universal "one-size-fits-all" latches, this system is engineered specifically for the door and jamb geometry of 1960–1963 Chevrolet and GMC trucks:
True Bolt-On Installation: The kit features contoured jamb plates designed to match the unique interior lines of your truck's doors. No welding is required, making this a clean and reversible upgrade.
Hardware Integration: These latches are designed to work seamlessly with your original exterior handles, interior handles, and factory door lock cylinders.
Custom Compatibility: While designed for stock handles, the kit is also fully compatible with shaved door handle applications using electronic solenoids.

Case-Hardened Paws: The internal rotary claws are manufactured from high-strength steel, case-hardened and zinc-plated to ensure they never bend or wear down over time.

Important Operation Note: Interior Locking
Manual Locking Constraint: Due to the design of the rotary claw upgrade, this specific kit does not allow the door to be locked from the inside using the factory manual controls.
The Power Lock Solution: To retain interior locking functionality, this system is designed to be paired with power lock actuators. Once actuators are installed, you can lock and unlock the doors via a switch or remote keyless entry.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be:

With original tags attached
In its original packaging
You must also provide a receipt or proof of purchase.

To initiate a return, please contact us at jonathon@hotrodhardware.com. Once your return request is approved, you will be provided with the return address and, if applicable, an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number.
Important: Items sent back without prior authorization will not be accepted.

Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon delivery. If your item is defective, damaged, or if you received the wrong item, contact us immediately so we can evaluate the issue and resolve it promptly.

Exchanges
The fastest way to receive a replacement item is to return your original item (once approved) and place a new order separately.
Free Shipping Orders
Orders that qualified for free shipping are subject to deduction of the original outbound shipping cost if the item is returned.
Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you regarding the approval status of your refund.
If approved:
Refunds will be issued to your original payment method
Any applicable restocking fees will be deducted
Original shipping charges (if applicable) will be deducted
Return shipping costs (if arranged by Hot Rod Hardware) will be deducted
