Description
The Direct Sheetmetal Front Floorboard Kit for 1933–1934 Ford Pickups (Part # FD270) is a premium, heavy-duty cabin solution engineered explicitly for builders retaining a factory original steel or reproduction stock-style firewall. When restoring or hot-rodding a vintage 1933–34 Ford truck, rotted original floors are a common hurdle. This kit provides a clean slate, offering much greater structural integrity than thin patch panels while allowing you to keep your stock firewall configuration intact.
Heavy-Duty, Hand-Formed Construction
Direct Sheetmetal products are designed specifically for home builders and hot rod enthusiasts working out of their own garages:
Premium Cold-Rolled Steel: Every piece in the kit is hand-formed using industrial 16-gauge and 18-gauge cold-rolled steel. This thickness ensures a rigid, rattle-free floor structure that serves as a solid foundation for sound deadening and upholstery.
Taller Transmission Tunnel: The included transmission tunnel is thoughtfully formed with a slightly taller, higher-clearance profile than original 1930s stampings. This extra room is crucial if you are swapping out the old manual gearbox for a more modern, larger automatic transmission (such as a GM TH350, 700R4, or modern overdrive unit).
Complete Assembly Breakdown
The FD270 kit arrives as a comprehensive, multi-piece front cabin replacement package to speed up your rust repair process:
Toe Boards: Formed angled panels that bridge the gap perfectly from the bottom edge of your stock firewall down to the flat horizontal floor line.
Front Floor Pans: Heavy-gauge flat main floor panels providing the structural base under the driver and passenger footwells.
Transmission Tunnel & Extension: A multi-piece centerpiece designed to comfortably seal off the transmission bellhousing and tailshaft clearance area.
Hardware & Manual: Includes an easy-to-understand instruction sheet and all necessary mounting hardware required to tie the panels together.
