The U.S. Radiator Desert Cooler All-Aluminum Radiator for 1928–1929 Ford Model A is a premium cooling solution designed specifically for hot rods and restorations running a modern V8 engine (optimized for the Chevy 350). While it maintains the iconic "tall" Model A silhouette, it replaces the restrictive original brass core with a high-efficiency aluminum system capable of cooling high-horsepower builds.
Engineered for Performance and Style
U.S. Radiator sets itself apart by using die-stamped components rather than simple flat sheets. This ensures that the radiator tanks and brackets mirror the original equipment's look and fit, even with the move to lightweight aluminum.
2-Row 1" Tube Core: This high-efficiency design uses wide 1-inch tubes to maximize the surface area in contact with the airflow, providing superior heat transfer compared to 3- or 4-row copper units.
No Epoxy Construction: The unit is 100% furnace-brazed aluminum. This construction eliminates the risk of weld failures or leaks caused by the breakdown of epoxy seals over time.
Downflow Configuration: Maintains the traditional Ford Model A vertical coolant flow, fitting perfectly within original or reproduction radiator shells.
V8 Conversion Features
This specific model is tailored for the classic "Ford Body, Chevy Heart" hot rod configuration:
GM Hose Connections: Features a 1-1/2" inlet and 1-3/4" outlet positioned to accommodate standard GM/Chevrolet V8 hose routing.
Transmission Cooler: Available with a built-in internal transmission cooler (8 x 5/16 IF) for automatic applications (such as TH350 or 700R4).

Critical Maintenance
To ensure the longevity of the aluminum core and maintain the manufacturer's warranty, specific coolant guidelines must be followed:
50/50 Premix ONLY: Do not use tap water; use only distilled 50/50 premixed coolant.
No Nitrates: Ensure your antifreeze does not contain nitrates, as these can be corrosive to aluminum cooling systems.

We offer a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days from the date you receive your item to request a return.
Eligibility for Returns
To be eligible for a return, your item must be:
In the same condition as received
Unworn or unused
With original tags attached
In its original packaging
You must also provide a receipt or proof of purchase.

Damages and Issues

Free Shipping Orders
Orders that qualified for free shipping are subject to deduction of the original outbound shipping cost if the item is returned.

If approved:
Refunds will be issued to your original payment method
Any applicable restocking fees will be deducted
