Description
The Heidts Superide® II IFS System is the premier front suspension upgrade for 1955–1959 Chevrolet "Task Force" trucks. By replacing the original heavy straight axle and leaf springs, this system provides a smooth, passenger-car-like ride while significantly improving the handling and market value of your classic pickup.
Engineering and Performance
Proprietary Geometry: This is a dedicated independent front suspension system, not a Mustang conversion. It is engineered specifically to handle the weight and frame width of 1955–1959 Chevy trucks.
Front-Mount Steering: The system utilizes a specific spindle design that enables a front-mount rack and pinion. This is a major benefit for engine swaps, as it creates ample clearance in the engine bay for modern V8 engines, oil pans, and exhaust routing.
Locked-In Alignment: The upper control arms utilize threaded adjusters for wheel alignment. Unlike traditional eccentric adjusters, these threaded units will never “slip,” ensuring your truck stays perfectly aligned even after hitting significant road bumps.
Smooth Handling: Engineered for a low stance and high steerability, the Superide® II features built-in anti-dive and zero bumpsteer for a stable, predictable driving experience.
Construction and Features
3-Piece Crossmember: The specialized 3-piece design simplifies the installation process, allowing for precise fitment and professional-grade welding to the original truck frame rails.
High-Performance Braking: Standardized with 11-inch rotors and 4-piston Wilwood calipers, providing modern, reliable stopping power for a classic truck.
Standard Upgrades: This kit comes complete with a power steering rack and a sway bar to ensure immediate improvements in steering effort and cornering stability.
Billet Coil-Overs: Features adjustable billet coil-over shocks and springs, allowing you to fine-tune the ride stiffness and ride height.

Main Crossmember: Heavy-duty 3-piece weld-in unit.
Control Arms: Tubular upper and lower arms with threaded adjusters.
Spindles: Your choice of Stock or 2-inch Dropped spindles.
Brakes: 11" rotors paired with Wilwood 4-piston calipers.
Steering: Power rack and pinion (Manual available upon request).
Suspension: Billet aluminum coil-over assembly.
Stabilizer: Front sway bar with bushings and mounting hardware.
Full Hardware Package: Ships hub-to-hub with all necessary bearings and seals.
Installation & Technical Notes
Weld-In Integration: Professional welding is required to secure the crossmember to the chassis for a permanent, structural bond.
Alignment Stability: Because the system is designed as a complete unit, all components work together to maintain the correct geometry throughout the suspension's travel.
Reliability: Heidts systems are popular among builders because they are engineered to “work right” specifically for the dimensions of the 1955-59 Chevy chassis.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be:

Unworn or unused
With original tags attached
In its original packaging
You must also provide a receipt or proof of purchase.

To initiate a return, please contact us at jonathon@hotrodhardware.com. Once your return request is approved, you will be provided with the return address and, if applicable, an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number.
Important: Items sent back without prior authorization will not be accepted.

Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon delivery. If your item is defective, damaged, or if you received the wrong item, contact us immediately so we can evaluate the issue and resolve it promptly.

Exchanges
The fastest way to receive a replacement item is to return your original item (once approved) and place a new order separately.
Free Shipping Orders
Orders that qualified for free shipping are subject to deduction of the original outbound shipping cost if the item is returned.
Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you regarding the approval status of your refund.
If approved:
Refunds will be issued to your original payment method
Any applicable restocking fees will be deducted
Original shipping charges (if applicable) will be deducted
Return shipping costs (if arranged by Hot Rod Hardware) will be deducted
