This system replaces the original heavy straight-axle and transverse leaf spring setup with a high-performance independent front suspension, transforming your vintage hauler into a smooth-handling, reliable cruiser.
Engineering and Construction
Comprehensive Hub-to-Hub System: This kit provides a complete engineering solution, including the specialized crossmember and every component needed for a professional front-end overhaul.
Tubular A-Frame Arms: Features paintable tubular upper and lower control arms. These offer a significant upgrade in strength and a much cleaner, show-quality aesthetic than original or stamped steel alternatives.
Modern Braking: Equipped with 11-inch GM-style disc brakes as standard, providing the consistent and fade-resistant stopping power required for modern road speeds.
Precision Steering: Replaces the original steering gear with a precise manual rack and pinion, effectively eliminating the play and heavy steering effort common in vintage trucks.
Kit Includes:
Control Arms: Choice of Stock or Narrow tubular control arms to help center your wheels within the fenders.
Spindles: Available in Stock height or 2-inch Dropped spindles for those wanting a lower, more aggressive stance.
Braking: Standard 11" GM Disc Brakes (Premium Wilwood high-performance upgrades are available).
Steering: Manual Rack and Pinion (Power steering racks are available as an upgrade).
Suspension Options: Standard Shocks and Springs (Optional upgrades include Coil-over shocks or an Air Bag kit for maximum adjustability).
Full Hardware Package: Includes all necessary mounting hardware, spindle nuts, washers, rubber spring cushions, bearings, and seals.
Installation & Technical Notes
Weld-In Fitment: The crossmember and spring towers must be professionally welded to the truck's frame rails.
Frame Preparation: Frame boxing is required to reinforce the original rails, providing the structural integrity needed for the new suspension geometry.
Axle Centerline: Installation involves centering the crossmember on the original axle centerline to ensure the wheels are positioned correctly within the fender openings.
Versatile Weight Capacity: Various spring rates are available to properly support everything from a traditional Flathead V8 to modern small-block or LS engine swaps.

Eligibility for Returns
To be eligible for a return, your item must be:
In the same condition as received
Unworn or unused
With original tags attached
In its original packaging
You must also provide a receipt or proof of purchase.

To initiate a return, please contact us at jonathon@hotrodhardware.com. Once your return request is approved, you will be provided with the return address and, if applicable, an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number.
Important: Items sent back without prior authorization will not be accepted.

Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon delivery. If your item is defective, damaged, or if you received the wrong item, contact us immediately so we can evaluate the issue and resolve it promptly.

Exchanges
The fastest way to receive a replacement item is to return your original item (once approved) and place a new order separately.
Free Shipping Orders
Orders that qualified for free shipping are subject to deduction of the original outbound shipping cost if the item is returned.
Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you regarding the approval status of your refund.
If approved:
Refunds will be issued to your original payment method
Any applicable restocking fees will be deducted
Original shipping charges (if applicable) will be deducted
Return shipping costs (if arranged by Hot Rod Hardware) will be deducted
