For 1953 and 1954 Chevrolet cars
The RainGear system will fit all 1953 and 1954 Chevrolet cars with the following known exceptions:
- Cars with Air-Tique air conditioning systems. In this case, you will need to modify the ducting supplied by Air-Tique and use the original Chevy ducting. Call us for details on this modification.
- Cross-mount master cylinders will not fit with our RainGear system installed.
The kit comes complete less assembly lube, arms and blades, escutcheons and model-specific knobs for the switch. All those stock pieces will fit on our system. Escutcheons are the exterior trim bezels which cover the pivot posts in the cowl. Note that the original escutcheons are required and are not available as an aftermarket item to the best of our knowledge.
Please note that the RainGear unit cannot be controlled by any General Motors column-mounted wiper switches. You must use the included switch. This is due to the fact that GM switches control the wiper motor via the ground wire and our systems must be controlled by switching the positive wire.

This system is also available upon request in a version for installing in right-hand drive cars for those of you that drive on the “other” side of the road. Pricing on RHD systems is the same as the regular LHD version.
